Yes. The Mat is non-slip on both sides thanks to a thin layer of polymer: it grips the floor, and provides a secure base for both gentle and dynamic poses. The wool adds a cozy feel, and its scent helps you disconnect.
A mat provides cushioning for your joints: at 8 mm thick, the Wool Mat is exceptionally comfortable. Its thin layer of polymer ensures grip during poses, and it creates a clean, reassuring space that helps you focus.
A yoga mat is thinner and non-slip, designed for stability in poses. Fitness mats are thicker and provide more cushioning. The Wool Mat offers the perfect balance: comfort for your joints and stability for your poses.

Materials and durability
No—almost all our users find that it does not itch. The thin, non-slip polymer layer reduces friction while leaving the feel and scent of the wool almost entirely intact.
According to a 2023 report by the General Council for Food, Agriculture and Rural Areas (CGAAER), French wool faces dual competition from synthetic materials and low-cost countries. The industry must find new outlets to rebuild itself—this is the starting point of our company.
PVC mats are durable and grippy, but they are neither biodegradable nor eco-friendly. Natural rubber mats are biodegradable but are sourced from the other side of the world. The Wool Mat is made from a natural, renewable, French material, with a thin layer of polymer for non-slip grip.
Yes: durability depends primarily on use and care. The Wool Mat contains no chemicals, and all production takes place in France, involving a network of companies committed to the social and solidarity economy.
Beyond using natural materials, we minimize our carbon footprint: the wool is sourced exclusively from Larzac farms that produce AOP Roquefort, processed locally, and packaged with the absolute minimum required.

Care and cleaning
Just like a wool sweater, it cleans itself when left to air out. Air the mat out regularly and vacuum it whenever necessary to remove dust.
No. Wool is self-cleaning: the best thing to do is air it out regularly. Its fibers do not retain odors, do not attract dust, and are hypoallergenic.
For long-term storage, use a bag to protect it from dust. If the area is prone to moths, tuck in a sachet of lavender. Make sure the mat is completely dry before storing it.
We do not recommend this: the feel and scent of the wool are part of what makes the mat special. If you are outdoors, place a towel under the mat instead to protect the wool from dirty surfaces.

Health and comfort
With 8 mm of dense wool, it provides real support for your knees and elbows. Lacaune sheep's wool is known for its natural resilience, a quality often utilized in bedding.
The quality of your mat matters when performing poses that strain the back, and Larzac wool is particularly well-suited for this. Certain poses help strengthen the back; if you are experiencing pain, consult a professional before starting.
Wool is a hypoallergenic material, so there is generally no risk of an allergic reaction. However, we do use a thin layer of polymer for the non-slip backing—please check that you are not allergic to this material.
The Mat is unisex. Due to our current production requirements, it is available in one size only: 190 × 61 cm.
