A meditation mat is a thick, stable base that insulates you from a cold floor and eases pressure points while you sit. Ours is 100% Larzac wool with no non-slip layer: 190 × 61 cm, 8 mm thick, 1.15 kg — large enough to sit on and to lie down at the end of a session, light enough to roll up and carry.
Unlike our yoga mat, it receives no polymer at all: this is a space for softness, not a gripping surface. The wool regulates temperature and absorbs moisture, so you stay comfortable even when the session runs long. Felted at Filature Colbert in Camarès, from wool grown on farms in the Roquefort PDO area.

The material comes from the Roquefort PDO area on the Larzac plateau: local wool from flocks held to a demanding set of standards. It is then transformed in Aveyron with Filature Colbert, producing a dense, even felt built to last. There is no non-slip layer here: the meditation mat is 100% wool, quite simply. French manufacturing, short and transparent, and you feel it from the first contact.

The instructions are simple: unroll it, settle down, breathe. What wool loves most is… breathing too. After use, air the mat out to release moisture and limit smells. Dust: vacuum with a soft attachment. Small mark: lightly soapy sponge, then air-dry away from any heat source. For a deep clean: dry cleaning recommended. Skip the washing machine.
Every year, a large share of French wool is thrown away for want of a market. Here it becomes an object that is useful, beautiful and long-lasting. Wool is a renewable material that does not depend on petrochemicals, and transforming it draws on local craft. The mat is made in France, rooted in the Larzac and the Roquefort PDO area: fewer miles, more coherence. In short: a gentler meditation, on a sounder choice.
For every mat sold, we give €2 to projects supporting the revival of the French wool industry.

Made from Larzac wool, sourced from Lacaune sheep farms in the Roquefort AOP region. It is a byproduct of dairy production: shearing is necessary for the animals' well-being, so the fiber exists regardless. It is felted at the Filature Colbert in Camarès, then crafted in our Saint-Affrique workshop. No dyes or chemical treatments added.
Like a wool sweater, wool cleans itself when left to air out. In general, air out your mat as often as possible to let the wool breathe. Regular cleaning extends the life of the mat. Vacuum whenever necessary to remove dust.
For three measurable reasons. Wool absorbs up to 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling damp, compared to less than 1% for most synthetic fibers, so it stays comfortable even during intense sessions. Its keratin naturally limits the growth of odor-causing bacteria without chemical treatments. Finally, it contains no phthalates, which ANSES classifies as endocrine disruptors and which are found in PVC mats. At the end of its life, it is 95% biodegradable within fifteen weeks.
Yes, a thick mat cushions and relieves the joints. With 8 mm of dense wool, the mat provides real support for knees and elbows. Larzac wool from Lacaune sheep is known for its resilient qualities, particularly in bedding.
Wool is a natural, biodegradable material: at the end of its life, it can be composted or reused, for example as garden mulch. While the thin non-slip polymer layer on our yoga mats is not compostable, our meditation and play mats are 100% wool.
