Discover the Larzac wool yoga mat

Our observation: 90% of wool produced in France each year is thrown away. We designed a wool yoga mat that is ethical, comfortable, non-slip and washable.

The press is talking about us

The characteristics of wool

Our Larzac wool yoga mats are designed to offer unparalleled comfort from natural wool.

Renewable & local

All “ethical” rugs are made from rubber that comes from the other side of the world.

Comfortable and natural

What a pleasure to practice on a natural and perfumed material. It gives a perfect anchor in the spirit of yoga.

Thermoregulatory

In winter it keeps you warm. In summer it keeps you cool. Of course, as for sheep.

Self-washing

Like a wool sweater, ventilate the rug from time to time. For dust, vacuum.

Elastic

Resistant to deformations, it is perfect for a carpet that you roll and roll out during each session.

Hypoallergenic

A natural material, wool is known to cause very few allergic reactions.

Adapted to perspiration

It absorbs up to 30% of its weight in moisture and then evacuates it naturally.

Anti-odor

Thanks to the porous and breathable structure of its fiber, wool does not retain odors.

A French production

Wool from farms in the AOP Roquefort area. It is transformed at the Filature Colbert in Camarès. The rugs are then stamped in the irons of the Marking Shop in Toulouse. Finally, they are sent and delivered directly to your home by Boost, an employment integration company based in Nîmes.

Pastoralism

A wool from Larzac

Our wool comes from a mythical territory, the cradle of AOP Roquefort production. A demanding world of pastoralism. A deep territory, rich in ancient tradition and know-how.

Artisanal processing

The transformation

The revival of a Spinning Mill

We process wool in Camarès (Aveyron), at Filature Colbert, created in 2023 to give wool a new future.

Iron marking

A wink to our farmers

We mark the rugs with the iron. A reminder of a practice that has now disappeared from breeding. The memory of a story and its beautiful evolution.

“The mat is very comfortable for the joints, it doesn't slide on the floor and your hands don't slide on it. The smell is a bit present but it doesn't bother me.”
Geraldine N.
Mareuil-sur-Cher, Loir-et-Cher
“Very pleasant feeling when in contact with wool on bare hands and feet. Very pleasant are also the postures such as a child's posture where you put your forehead or part of your face on the carpet, a natural feeling that is very very pleasant compared to synthetic rugs.”

FAQs

Find answers to frequently asked questions about our wool yoga mat.

Why is 90% of French wool thrown away every year?

According to a report by the General Food Council (CGAAER) published in 2023, French wool faces double competition from synthetic materials and low-cost countries. The French sector must therefore be rebuilt and new outlets must be found to promote it. It is the starting point of our business!

Is the Wool Rug suitable for gentle yoga and dynamic yoga?

We designed the Rug with a latex layer so that the mat is non-slip on both sides. It sticks to the ground. On the practice surface, it offers an anchor to perform gentle yoga and dynamic yoga poses. The use of wool offers a cocooning aspect. Its smell makes it easy to disconnect.

What is the difference between a PVC yoga mat, a natural rubber mat and our wool mat?

PVC rugs are durable and have a good grip. They are not biodegradable or ecological. Natural rubber mats are biodegradable and anti-slip but come from the other end of the world (Southeast Asia, South America). The Wool Rug is designed from a natural, renewable and French material. We only use a thin layer of latex to make it slip-resistant.

Can wool rugs help with joint pain?

A thick yoga mat can cushion and relieve joints. Without removing the need for stability in practice, the Wool Rug was designed to provide support for knees and elbows. Larzac wool, from Lacaune sheep, has particular bouncy qualities, particularly recognized in the field of bedding.

How do I clean my wool carpet?

Like a wool sweater, wool can be cleaned by itself when you let it air out. In general, ventilate the Carpet as regularly as possible to make the wool breathe. Regular cleaning extends the life of the carpet. Vacuum as soon as necessary to remove dust.
