A wool yoga mat is a felted mat made from a natural fibre that regulates temperature and absorbs moisture, whereas PVC and TPE trap it on the surface. Our five models share the same base: 190 × 61 cm, 8 mm thick, weighing 1.15 kg, and crafted using wool from the Roquefort PDO pastoral region. They differ in what they are made for — meditation, dynamic practice, precision of posture, or the addition of a custom engraving — and range from €70 to €150. Made in our Saint-Affrique workshop and shipped within 48 hours.
The little extras to go with your mat
— Seated meditation, yin yoga or yoga nidra: the meditation mat, 100% wool with no non-slip coating, €70.
— Dynamic practice (vinyasa, ashtanga, kundalini, jivamukti, power flow yoga): the yoga mat, non-slip on both sides, €90.
— Working on alignment: the alignment mat, with markers engraved into the material, €110.
— A gift, a mat that looks like you: the personalised mat, engraved with a name, a word or a quote, €150.
All share the same base: 190 × 61 cm, 8 mm thick, 1.15 kg.
Yes. A yoga mat has to provide support, comfort and grip, and insulate you from hard, cold surfaces. Le Tapis de Laine brings all three together: 8 mm of dense felt for your joints, a non-slip coating on both sides, and a fibre that regulates temperature from the start of your session to the end.
Yes. The mat is non-slip on both sides thanks to a thin layer of polymer: it grips the floor, and on the practice side it gives you a secure anchor for gentle and dynamic postures alike. The wool adds a cocooning feel, and its scent helps you switch off.
The mat cushions to relieve the joints: at 8 mm thick, Le Tapis de Laine is exceptionally comfortable — 82% of customers rate it "very comfortable" or "revolutionary". Its natural material creates a clean, reassuring space that helps you focus.
A yoga mat is thinner and non-slip, designed for stability in postures. Fitness mats are thicker and cushion more. Le Tapis de Laine strikes the right balance: comfort for the joints and stability in the postures.
They are carefully crafted by local artisans. Eco-friendly and comfortable, they combine tradition with well-being, supporting local production and our farmers.
