01

The play mat

Your baby and the mat.
What is the play mat made of?

Made from 100% French wool from the Larzac region, sourced from AOP Roquefort farms and felted at the Filature Colbert in Camarès (Aveyron). No added chemicals.

Is the wool suitable for baby's skin?

Yes. The wool is hypoallergenic and soft: our first customers can confirm that it is not itchy.

Does the rug regulate temperature?

Yes. Wool is naturally thermoregulating: it keeps you warm in winter, stays cool in summer, and absorbs up to 30% of its weight in moisture before releasing it.

Can it be placed directly on the floor?

Yes. The dense wool insulates the baby from cold floors and provides comfortable cushioning for play and development.

02

Quality & origin of the wool

But ultimately, why wool?
Is the wool itchy?

No—our first customers will confirm that it is not itchy. The feel and scent of the wool are natural, contributing to your baby's sensory development.

Why is 90% of French wool discarded every year?

According to a 2023 report by the General Council for Food, Agriculture and Rural Areas (CGAAER), the French wool industry faces stiff competition from synthetic materials and low-cost countries. The industry needs to find new markets to rebuild itself—this is the starting point of our company.

Why wool instead of foam or synthetic materials?

Most play mats are made of foam or polyester derived from petrochemicals. Wool is a natural, renewable, and French-sourced material, providing a healthy environment for your baby's development.

Is an eco-friendly rug as durable as a traditional one?

Yes: durability depends primarily on use and care. The rug contains no chemicals, and all production takes place in France, involving a network of companies committed to the social and solidarity economy.

Why is the wool rug environmentally friendly?

Beyond using natural materials, we minimize our carbon footprint: wool is sourced exclusively from Larzac farms producing AOP Roquefort, processed locally, and packaged with minimal materials.

Maintenance and cleaning

Caring for your rug.
How do I clean my wool mat?

Just like a wool sweater, it cleans itself when aired out. Air the mat regularly and vacuum it whenever necessary to remove dust.

Can I put my mat in the washing machine?

No. Wool is self-cleaning; the best approach is to air it out regularly. Its fibers do not retain odors, do not attract dust, and are hypoallergenic.

How should I store my mat to make it last longer?

For long-term storage, use a bag to protect it from dust. If the area is prone to moths, tuck in a sachet of lavender. Ensure the mat is completely dry before storing.

What are the dimensions of the play mat?

The play mat is 120 cm in diameter: plenty of room for baby… and for you.

Is the wool mat suitable for people with allergies?

Wool is a hypoallergenic material, so there is generally no risk of allergic reactions.

Does the play mat come in different sizes?

It comes in a one-size 120 cm diameter, available in classic or personalized versions.
